The Eastern European University of Applied Sciences in Bialystok (Wschodnioeuropejska Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Białymstoku – WANS), formerly known as the Higher School of Finance and Management (WSFiZ) and the Higher School of Physical Education and Tourism (WSWFiT), has been one of the leading non-state universities in Poland for many years. The Academy is based in Białystok, with a branch located in Ełk.

The university celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. It has excellent teaching facilities and its graduates easily find permanent employment in companies in the region and across the country. Surveys confirm that they enjoy their work and meet employers’ expectations. What’s more, many of them are successfully running their own businesses.
